To put it very mildly, I'm extremely EXCITED!!!!! This is why - its only...

Just to complete my TOTAL joy, Tom has ordered me Mousecatraz and Mousetrap off of Amazon, because I really wanted them but couldn't afford them! It was a total suprise and I just didn't know what to say, so THANK YOU TOM. You're my favourite friend ever!! Isn't he just the most wonderful, amazing person-with-a-ponytail in the world!!! I can't wait to read them!!

WHOOP

WHOOP!

WHOOOOP

WHOOOOP!!!

WAAAHHHHHHOOOO!

YYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYY!!!

Umm what else can I say? Oh yes, today was Pancake Day! Tom and I have just filled our faces with yummy pancakes. I finally managed to flip mine, not once, but twice!

Michelle, the little Jammy Dodger, is jetting off to Florida TOMORROW for some fun in the sun. She's going to be meeting up with Louisa, Jess, Chari etc who are already out there, for a meal!

Im other, more mundane, news; my book arrived from Amazon today, so I can get reading and actually begin to look like I'm actually DOING SOMETHING on my dissertation.

I will leave you with a quote - I like it and I feel like it!

"Joy is the feeling of grinning on the inside" ~ Melba Colgrove

Until next time, I depart with joy!

*SPOOF BLOG* 'Disney is not actually that great' by Tom (who is bitter!)

Although I just got the confirmation that I have a face-to-face interview again it's not at the Disney HQ this time so I don't like them anymore. If I'm going to work for them they can at least interview me properly. Perhaps I won't go at all. I'm so amazing they shouldn't even have to interview me.
I think I'll just turn up in Florida and announce that I'm now running the park, it's the least they can do for me considering all the attention I've given them over the years.

I other news, which is far more impotant than any Disney rubbish - I have discovered my pancake-making genius. Perhaps I should become a celebrity chef rather than working at Disney. It would certainly be a more rewarding and socially-acceptable occupation than working at a glorified theme park. Something to think about, perhaps.

The twelfth day...

Ok, so I said I wouldn't blog again until I'd heard back about an f2f, buuuut today is the twelfth day after my phone interview. That is significant because after the last phone interviews, we heard the results twelve days later and I was accordingly nervous about this day for that reason.

However, my inbox is empty and so I will take this opportunity to fill you in on other events of note:

Jess and Chari have now joined Louisa in Florida, they flew out yesterday for the year. They ought to have a pretty amazing time. Have a magical year ladies, glad you got there and moved in ok!! The next round of departures are scheduled for March 10th and have a more international flavour, with people from Norway, Italy, Germany and South Africa as well as the UK!

Valentine's Day has, of course, just come and gone this weekend. I spent most of the day serving tea and coffee, but what else could I expect since I don't have a Prince Charming to come and sweep me off of my feet! However, the evening was decidedly better. Tom obviously knows the way to this girl's heart, as he bought me a Valentine's Day pin!!!! It's Lady and the Tramp and LE1000. It's all sparkly and shiny and I love it! Here it is (thanks PinPics!):Monday was Unite at the Cube where the CU had the whole of the club on campus to ourselves, for an awesome night of partAying! I had less than five hours sleep and then had to get up at 7am to join a queue that already had 200 people in it, in order to be in with a chance to getting tickets to the Grad Ball. I have to say it does sound amazing - so it had better be worth £59 and the six hours we spent in line waiting to get to the Box Office.

Tonight Tom and I are going to the Soul Survivor Tour which will be at Central Hall! We've already had Andy Croft here for Events Week and then Mike Pilavachi came to our Unite meeting, so a bit more Soul Survivor will go down very well indeed!

Lastly, and very excitingly, I'm going on a little trip to Paris 14th-16th March!!! It's a course trip, so we're going to be visiting lots of memorials/monuments/museums but we'll also have lots of free time to shop and sight see etc. It's just before the Easter holidays, so that will be awesome indeed. We are staying at the Hotel Port Royal, but don't let the name fool you, its a 1* by French standards! Myself and Harriet have a double room...

That's all! Adieu, mes cheries!

5mins and 26secs of my life....

MY PHONE INTERVIEW!!

Yep, it happened and now its over and done with. Here the details;

It was with a lady called Jenny, lasted 5mins and 26secs and invlolved the following questions...

0 What is your motivation for taking part in the Programme?
0 What is your work experience so far?
0 What would you tell Guests about your home town and its culture?
0 Have you ever lived away from home before?
0 How will you get on with a room mate from another culture?
0 What is your travel experience to this point?
0 On a scale of 1-10, how well would you say you got on with your work colleagues?

Difficult to see how we fitted that all in to 5mins!! But I think it went well, she sounded happy with all of my answers, so that was encouraging... I'd been quite concerned because I came down with a cold and was worried that I'd sound awful on the phone, but nope, all was well!

Now to wait. We were under the impression that it would be two weeks until we found out, she said FOUR weeks, but I think they said something similar last time and I knew in under two weeks! Watch this space.

In other news, I recieved some nice friendly marks for one of my course modules yesterday so I'm happy about that. I also booked Eurostar tickets for a weekend in Paris (got ripped off by Eurostar, but it was only by £10) and my coursemate Harriet and I got to choose our seats - next to each other obviously!

The rain is continuing to fall on Southampton, but when I looked out the window just now, its sleety, so that a step in the right direction.
Poor Louisa though, she was worried that her flight would be cancelled and then she got stuck on the motorway - all due to snow! That's by-the-by now though, cos she got to Orlando safe and well, has settled in and has Traditions tomorrow!! Chari and the others go to get their visas on Monday.

Methinks that is all I have to share with you. I'll leave you with this... Ciao x

Bon voyage Skipper Lou and 3 days til phone interview!!

The title says it all really...

Today, 3rd Feb 09, Louisa sets of to begin her second Disney adventure (UK FnB). Have an amazing time Lou!!

Also, back in the real world, I have my phone interview on Friday... Tell me why I should be so scared about messing this up???? None at all. Hmmmm. Well I shall let you know how it goes and when I expect to hear the next bit of news...

Apologies if you think I'm updating too much, I'm bored and I hate my dissertation.

Oh, a world of wishes
A world where dreams come true
So make a wish, see it through
Dare to do what dreamers do...

Southampton is a Winter Wonderland! I've got the day off work and the park is beckoning... Yesterday was fab too, I went for a walk on the Common with my coursemate and took loads of photos all around campus!
Unfortunately the snow also prevented Chari from getting her visa at the US Embassy in London (it was closed!) and might delay Louisa's flight...
